As the editor of a business magazine that promotes North Carolina, your stewardship is besmirched by allowing two sacred pages each month to a far-right-wing columnist from the John Locke Foundation, which is dedicated to redistributing wealth from the bottom to the top through tax and governance policies. In his Free & Clear column in the December issue, John Hood advocated a consumption tax that would unfairly shift the tax burden to the poor from the rich, who consume a lesser percentage of their income than the poor, who must spend their total income on consumption.
