Before I began my role as development director here at The Progressive, I worked as a fundraiser and coordinator in the fields of higher education, land conservation, and the arts.

I found great satisfaction in the work that allowed these organizations to become more financially stable, enabling them to further their missions. My job as a fundraiser lets me help donors make a direct impact on the issues they care most about.

I helped the University of Wisconsin-Platteville organize the first Center for Gender and Sexuality on its small rural campus, collaborated on drafting a preferred-name policy, and found space for all-gender restrooms. I also worked to ensure that higher education remained affordable and accessible for rural and working-class students. Our mission at my next job, with the Driftless Area Land Conservancy, was to protect the threatened lands and waters of the Southwest Wisconsin Grasslands.
