VIII. THE JURY

You should think about what type of jurors you want and try to determine what information you may need for a challenge for cause or for a peremptory challenge pursuant to Md. Rule 2-512. In this regard, you should prepare in advance voir dire questions.234 Voir dire questions may also be filed with the court in advance of trial. Generally speaking, typical voir dire questions include whether any juror knows counsel or the parties, is familiar with the event, knows any of the witnesses, or whether the juror has ever been a party to a similar type of litigation. In addition, there will be special questions that you will need to prepare in advance (i.e., pre-trial publicity, or in landlord-tenant disputes you may want to know whether anybody on the jury rents or is a landlord).
