The Great Betrayal.

PositionAnthony Fauci in financing and developing gain-of-function research

Through at least gross negligence and, potentially, criminal negligence, Dr. Anthony Fauci; leading U.S. government scientists; private sector virologists; officials in the Department of Defense and the Defense Threat Reduction Agency; and Chinese Peoples Liberation Army virologist Dr. Shi Zhengli succeeded in financing and developing via gain-of-function research the greatest bio-weapon in the history of the world, COVID-19. That bioweapon is responsible for killing an estimated 4,000,000 people worldwide and more than 600,000 in the U.S.

Our own Department of Defense and other U.S. government agencies gave approximately $136,000,000 directly and indirectly to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, including for coronavirus gain-of-function research (i.e., for research to genetically manipulate the coronavirus to be transmissible to and communicable among humans).

Through a careful review of all relevant publicly available documents, Dr. Charles B. Simone, one of the nation's leading immunologists, is among those asking very serious questions about the collaboration between U.S. scientists and officials and Chinese scientists at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. I draw here from Dr. Simone's trove of evidence.

Knowledge that the Communist Party of China (CPC) and People's Liberation Army (PLA) were intent on developing bioweapons has been widespread for decades among State and Defense Department officials, national security personnel in the White House, and in upper levels in the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and Food and Drug Administration. Since 2007, nonclassified versions of publications by the CPC and PLA describing genetic and biological warfare as the way for China to defeat the West have circulated publicly in the West.

Indeed, it is hard to believe that Dr. Fauci was oblivious to the risks associated with gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology. He intimately was involved with those interacting with the Wuhan lab; knew that its modest Level-2 Biosafety protocols had been criticized as inadequate (Level 2 is only adequate for work with agents that pose only a "moderate hazard" to humans); was aware that the original SARS virus arose from the Beijing Institute of Virology lab due in no small measure to the inadequacy of its Level 2 protocols; and was aware that the Wuhan lab director, Dr. Zhengli, was loyal to the CPC...
