Donald D. Allen is Of Counsel with Markus Williams Young & Zimmermann LLC in Denver and has more than 30 years of experience in representing secured creditors, asset-purchasers, debtors, official committees, trustees and various governmental entities in workouts, restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings. A frequent speaker on bankruptcy, foreclosure, real property title issues and distressed oil and gas properties, in 2015, he moderated a panel on the energy industry at ABI's Rocky Mountain Bankruptcy Conference, and in 2014, he was a featured speaker at the Colorado Business Law Institute concerning oil and gas bankruptcy cases. Mr. Allen was a leading member of the small team of attorneys at Markus Williams Young & Zimmermann that confirmed a "true" chapter 11 reorganization plan for a natural gas exploration and production company with extensive acreage in the DJ basin in Colorado. The debtor issued new stock for debt, resolving $21 million in claims by subordinated noteholders and another $18 million in secured claims. Mr. Allen is Board Certified in Business Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification and has co-chaired the Bankruptcy Subsection of the Colorado Bar Association. He also served as a professor of business law and critical thinking for five years at the University of Phoenix. Mr. Allen has been named a "Colorado Super Lawyer" in Bankruptcy Practice for each year from 2010 through 2016. He received his B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his J.D. from the University of Santa Clara School of Law, where he served on the Board of Editors of the Santa Clara Law Review and received the Trial Attorneys Outstanding Oral Advocate Award.

Robert A. Bell Jr. is a partner at the Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP in its Columbus, Ohio, office and practices in its finance, energy and real estate group. He regularly advises clients in the areas of bankruptcy, debtor/creditor rights, commercial restructuring, collection and financial restructurings, including advising industry players in the bankruptcy cases of other oil and gas companies. He was also formerly a Certified Public Accountant. An ABI member, Mr. Bell has lectured on various topics on commercial restructuring and oil and gas bankruptcy matters, including the treatment of various oil and gas agreements in bankruptcy. He was named an "Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star" in bankruptcy and creditor/debtor law, and is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio and the Eastern District of Michigan. Mr. Bell received his B.S. in business from Miami University and his J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Dayton College of Law.
