The Desire to Make
Immediate Contributions
A Very Confident Generation
Entitled. That is the word that trails Millennials in corporate offices
across the United States. Employers grow increasingly frustrated with
those entitled Millennials who won’t work hard and won’t commit.
Employers roll their eyes at those entitled Millennials who think they have
already earned respect and adoration at the office before ever proving
themselves. Truth be known, Millennials are willing to work hard, but
they are less willing than previous generations to “pay their dues.” They
need a purpose to drive them, mentorship and collaboration to sustain
them, flexibility to blend work and life harmoniously, and opportunities
to inspire their best work. Where employers see entitlement, Millennials
see confidence.
