MORE OF US GO TO COLLEGE

Americans are attending college in greater numbers than ever. The proportion of 25- to 29-year-olds with a bachelor's degree or higher increased from 23% in 1990 to 34% in 2014.

SOME MORE THAN OTHERS

Women, in particular, have made great strides. In 1990, 24% of male and 23% of female 25- to 29-year-olds had a bachelor's degree or higher. By 2014, it was 31% for males and 37% for females.
