However, by virtue of their convincing five-game spanking of the Detroit Tigers in last year's Fall Classic, the St. Louis Cardinals finally have edged ahead of the Oakland (previously Philadelphia and Kansas City) Athletics for the second most championships at 10. In celebration of the National League's most successful franchise's latest triumph, Upper Deck has issued a special MLB World Series Champions Box Set collector's edition.

Now these are baseball cards worth saving; just ask our son, whose Cardinal attire at Little League practices--he plays for the Mets, the, it turns out, not-so-Amazin' victims of the Redbirds in last fall's NLCS--has earned him the nickname "St. Louie."

The 51 cards are split into five categories, 25 Regular Season Player Cards, 15 Regular Season Highlight Cards, nine World Series Memorable Moments Cards, one World Series MVP Card, and one Oversized Commemorative Card.
