Americans pay the most expensive birthing costs in the world, so the personal finance website Wallet-Hub conducted an analysis of 2015's Best and Worst States to Have a Baby.

To help expectant parents gauge their baby-planning costs, Wallet-Hub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 21 key metrics, Including delivery costs, average annual infant-care expenses, the per-capita number of midwives and OB-GYNs, and the per-capita number of child care centers.

The 10 best states to have a baby, in order, are Vermont, North Dakota, Oregon, Hawaii, Minnesota, Kentucky, Maine, Wyoming, Iowa, and Alaska.

The 10 worst, from the bottom up, are Mississippi, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, South Carolina, Nevada, New York, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama, and Arkansas.
