The ASMC Pikes Peak Chapter is located in Colorado Springs, Colorado and is comprised of four US military installations (Peterson AFB, Schriever AFB, the United States Air Force Academy, and Ft. Carson). With young financial managers at the heart of every base, the Pikes Peak Early Careerist initiative hit the ground running in the fall of 2016 and has since grown to 32 members.
Stemming from the goals and fundamentals of the ASMC National Early Careerist pilot program, the Pikes Peak Chapter started to develop their financial managers through monthly Virtual Professional Development Institute (V-PDI) programs rotating through Peterson AFB, Ft. Carson and the United States Air Force Academy. V-PDI is an online collection of professional training and development materials recorded at ASMC's annual Professional Development Institute.
As the Early Careerist (EC) initiative started to grow, goals began to expand. In addition to providing professional development through networking, educational, and community service opportunities, Pikes Peak wanted to help young financial managers foster a sense of importance belonging within their units. Not only is the Pikes Peak EC focusing on professional goals, but personal goals as well, to develop and invest in the future of financial management (FM). Airman First Class (A1C) Nathan Saelens joined the EC initiative in December 2016 and serves as the ASMC Pikes Peak Early Careerist Vice President.
