In recent years, CLF has encouraged the state of Maine to implement a comprehensive bay-wide planning and management program ("Bay Management") for its coastal waters. The current management scheme is struggling to keep up with increasing development pressures and growing competition among new industries, like aquaculture, and other recreational and commercial activities.
