TLMI LABEL AWARDS 2019
Multi-Color Corporation North America Wine and Spirits is the winner of the prestigious Best in Show award at the 2019 TIM Label Awards competition. The converter earned the top honor for its Prayers of Sinners entry in the category Offset - Wine & Spirits - Color Process - Prime. To complete this stunning label, Multi-Color Corporation North America Wine and Spirits needed to overcome printing challenges on the lower half of the label. The label, which activates well with 365nm lights, offers a glow-in the dork skeleton graphic. The dark skeleton was applied inline under the CMYK graphic.
In addition to Best in Show, the Prayers of Sinners label won Best in Class in its category. Including Prayers of Sinners, there were six other Best in Class winners. For 2019, Best in Class winners are Labeltronix, McDowell Label & Screen Printing, Multi-Color Corporation Mexico, Multi-Color Corporation North Amenca Wine and Spirits. Syracuse Label & Surround Printing, and Yerecic Label.
The TLMI Annual Awards competition aims to stimulate innovative printing and recognizes technical achievement in all areas of the narrow web industry, including tags and labels, cartons, flexible packaging, nonwoven pressure sensitive products and more. The competition recognizes and honors the finest efforts of the association's converter members throughout the previous 12-month period.

MCDOWELL LABEL & SCREEN PRINTING
CATEGORY: Multi-Process--Pressure Sensitive--Excludes Wine & Spirits--Color Process--Prime
ENTRY: Athena
SPECIAL CHALLENGES: The most detailed and exceptionally tight registration of the 4-color process image (and the associated fine screen-tones) to the use of brand-specific spot colors provided a challenge. In addition, the rotary screen printing, the tactile doming features, and the combination patterned varnishes create a highly-augmented label that emits different visible features pending the angle of light refraction and consumer engagement. The net result is an exceptionally executed, complex label design.
