Tax Executives Institute, the preeminent association of in-house tax professionals worldwide, has announced that Eli Dicker will become TEI's Executive Director in January 2013 when Timothy McCormally retires after 30 years on the Institute's staff. A search for a new Chief Tax Counsel, Mr. Dicker's current role, is underway.

Mr. Dicker joined TEI in 2005 as its lead technical tax adviser. In that role, he oversees Institute advocacy efforts and initiatives including those related to pending or proposed tax legislation and regulations, treaties, administrative, and judicial decisions. Before joining TEI, Mr. Dicker was employed at Capital One Financial Corporation, where he led the Tax Accounting and Reporting function, overseeing federal and state tax accounting, reporting, and compliance. His professional experience includes service as a tax principal with KPMG LLP and as an attorney-advisor and trial attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. A graduate of Queens College, Mr. Dicker received his law degree from Northeastern University School of Law and his LL.M. (Taxation) from New York University. He currently also serves as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center, teaching a workshop on cross-border tax controversies.
