TEI sets continuing education calendar.

Tax Executives Institute has announced its schedule of educational offerings for 2011-2012. The conferences, seminars, and courses will feature best-in-class faculties addressing timely and practical topics, according to Carita R. Twinem of the Wisconsin Chapter, chair of TEI's Continuing Education Committee.

In addition to three-day fall and spring conferences, the schedule includes seminars on financial reporting, audits and appeals, mergers and acquisitions and a streamlined and refocused state and local tax boot camp.

The Institute's seminars will complement TEI's extended courses on federal and international tax issues. "TEI's educational programs remain unparalleled," Ms. Twinem noted. "The combination of seasoned practitioners, timely topical coverage, and low cost make TEI's educational offerings the absolute gold standard," she observed.

TEI's financial reporting seminar, "Living under the Microscope: Financial Reporting in an Era of Hyper-Regulation," will take place in Dallas on September 22-23. The two-day program will explore a wide range of technical, policy, and management issues.

In February, TEI will hold its annual tax controversy program. "For the third year in a row, our audits and appeals seminar will be extended a third day so participants can focus on the challenges associated with foreign tax examinations," Ms. Twinem noted. (Registrants will have the option of attending the first two days, the last one, or all three.)

In May, TEI will host a State and Local Tax Boot Camp, a two-and-a-half day immersion program on fundamental principles of state corporate income tax. In addition to interactive lectures laying out a foundation of basic state tax knowledge, the program will include several case studies and discussion forums...
