TEI sets continuing education calendar: seminars on financial reporting, consolidated returns, IRS audits and appeals, and international tax planning complete the calendar.

Tax Executives Institute has announced the Institute's schedule of educational offerings for 2010-2011. The conferences, seminars, and courses for the year will feature top-flite speakers along with cutting-edge technical topics, according to David Penney of the Toronto Chapter, chair of TEI's Continuing Education Committee.

In addition to three-day fall and spring conferences, the schedule includes seminars on financial reporting, consolidated returns, and IRS audits and appeals.

"In connection with the audits and appeals seminar, TEI will continue to offer a third day devoted to foreign tax examinations, Mr. Penney noted. These programs will complement TEI's extended courses on federal, state and local, and international tax issues. The Institute will augment its schedule with webinars on key tax, accounting, and management topics in conjunction with the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, TEI's affinity partner for research.

"TEI's educational programs are unparalleled," Mr. Penney noted. "The combination of top practitioners, up-to-the-minute topical coverage, and low cost ensures that TEI's educational programs remain the industry standard," he added.

TEI's financial reporting seminar, "Managing Tax Accounting Risk in the Age of Transparency Tax," will take place in Chicago at the Westin O'Hare on September 20-21. The two-day program will explore a wide range of technical, policy, and management issues.

In the late fall, the Marriot Solana (Dallas/Fort Worth area) will be the site for TEI's "Selected Issues in Consolidated Returns," a two-day seminar that will examine the nuts and bolts of consolidated returns...
