TEI presents social responsibility grant to handful players at San Francisco chapter annual meeting.

During his tenure as TEI's 2007-2008 President, Bob McDonough recommended, and TEI's Board adopted, a Social Responsibility Initiative, which was intended to recognize and encourage TEI's and its local chapters' giving back to their community. In addition to enhancing TEI's scholarship efforts, the social responsibility program contemplated awards to worthy local charities recommended by TEI chapter members. 2008-2009 President Vince Alicandri followed through and implemented TEI's social responsibility program during his tenure.

One of the first awards under TEI's Social Responsibility Initiative was granted to Handful Players at TEI's San Francisco Chapter's Annual Meeting held on June 10. Handful Players is a charity founded by Judith Cohen, President of CoMotion Corporation, a company founded in 2001 to help organizations transform their business through effective communications.

Aside from her distinguished business career, Judith Cohen's real passion is helping children thrive through the transformative power of theater. To achieve her dream, she founded Handful Players, a nonprofit children's musical theatre. Ms. Cohen had the vision and drive to create from scratch a program that provides children with a creative, safe environment to develop skills relating to the theater.
