New TEI leaders convene in Old Quebec City for timeless leadership seminar.

The legendary Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, Quebec, played host to TEI's 2009 Leadership Seminar in June. Built in 1893 on the banks of the St. Lawrence, the hotel has been the site of numerous meetings and conferences, including the 1943 Quebec Conference, where Winston Churchill and Franklin Roosevelt discussed strategy for the Second World War.

In June 2009, the subjects were not war and peace but the continuing operations of Tax Executives Institute, whose founding three years after the Churchill-Roosevelt summit gave birth to the rising professionalism of in-house tax professionals. Participants in tile 2009 Leadership Seminar--chapter presidents, regional vice presidents, and members of the Executive Committee--were welcomed by outgoing TEI President Vincent Alicandri of the Toronto Chapter, who introduced his successor, Neil Traubenberg of the Denver Chapter. With a theme of "Maintaining Preeminence in an Evolving Economy: Yes We Can!," Mr. Traubenberg noted the critical role chapters play in member recruitment and retention, education, and networking.
