I just read your article in the latest supplement (2004 Golf Tournament Planner's Guide, January) about "Why Golf Goes With Business." That's something I've wondered about for a long time. I grew up in a golfing family and spent much of my summers golfing at the country club we belonged to. Then I went into commercial banking after college and did a lot of golfing there with clients. Then I moved into corporate finance and received lots of invitations to golf from my accountants, bankers, insurance brokers, etc. It wasn't until I moved out of the corporate world and became a small-business entrepreneur that the pressure to regularly golf finally ceased and I was so relieved! Frankly, I can think of SO many things I'd rather be doing than spending half a day golfing.

Now, when someone invites me to golf, I turn them down. Your article mentioned that golf is a good way...
