Technology upgrade to boost state Medicaid system.

The state Department of Health and Social Services signed a contract with Affiliated Computer Services Inc. of Dallas to design, develop, implement and operate a new Medicaid management information system. The contract may run 10 years with a total value of $130 million if three one-year options are exercised. The technology firm also will provide claims processing, operations call center support and other services.
