World War II-era advertisements for Coca-Cola--featuring U.S. soldiers, sailors, and aviators--are the centerpiece of the "Taste of Home" display at the National Constitution Center, Philadelphia, Pa. The poster-size images come from Coca-Cola's Corporate Archives. The display is intended to demonstrate that the soda was more than just a soft drink for servicemen stationed abroad--it was a "taste of home."

Rallying with the rest of the nation to support U.S. troops during WWII, company president Robert Woodruff ordered that "every man in uniform gets a bottle of Coca-Cola for five cents, wherever he is, and whatever it costs the company." The bottling plants built overseas during wartime to fulfill Woodruff's vision laid the foundation for the company's worldwide reach today.
