The Targets, UAVs & Range Operations Division provides a forum for open exchange of technical and programmatic information between the Department of Defense, its military services, industry representatives and foreign governmental and civil agencies in the test and evaluation of air-to-air and ground-to-air weapons systems. Originally chartered as the Aerial Targets Section under the Air Armaments Division, the division expanded its focus to incorporate UAVs and range operations in response to the increased emphasis on joint operations by the DoD.
