FET (FarEasTone Telecommunications) has selected Amdocs products and services to modernize its charging and billing systems with real-time capabilities and facilitate thelaunch of 4G LTE services to the local marketplace.

Amdocs systems have been supporting FET's mobile billingoperations for the past 10 years and will now be upgraded to Amdocs' flagship Convergent Charging and Billing solution, based on the Amdocs CES 9 product suite. Amdocs will deliver a full solution including third-party hardware and software, implementation, systems integration, testing, training and maintenance services.

We chose Amdocs for the strength of its convergent charging and billing products, already proven at tier-one operators around the world, as well as for its dedicated professional services and global business process best practices, said Magdalina Lin, executive vice president of IT at FET. Once deployed, the new solution will allow usto quickly launch innovative offerings and monetization models, and deliver an enhanced 4G LTE experience to ourcustomers.

Following the deployment, FET will have a single, real-timecharging engine and a single product catalog to allow therapid introduction of real-time prepaid and postpaidservices and bundles. FET will also be able to supporthybrid accounts spanning multiple personas and devices andmulti-hierarchy accounts. Using Amdocs' innovative real-time charging technology, the Amdocs solution enables bestin-class event processing performance on Linux-based software, benchmarked for subscriber bases of hundreds of millions of subscribers.

With a single, convergent system that can support huge volumes of real-time prepaid and postpaid events generated from any service, whether mobile, fixed-line or broadband, and on low-cost hardware, FET will be able to reduce operational and hardware costs and cost-efficiently scale the system to support growing data usage and subscriber numbers, as well as additional lines of business, said Rebecca Prudhomme, vice president of product and solutions marketing at Amdocs.
