Utah's economy and commercial real estate market yet again sustained and strengthened over the past year, albeit at a slower pace. Overall every market sector showed positive trends ready to start the new year on solid ground.
Utah continued to earn several national accolades in 2018. From being named "#2 Best State for Business" by Forbes to "#1 State for Fiscal Stability" by U.S. News and World Report, Utah continues to rise to the top.
This year's Symposium theme is "Going Up," speaking to the positive momentum Utah has experienced, including robust economic growth, and increased job creation and wages. This positive progress has also created challenges, such as a shallow labor-pool, a rise in cost-of-living, and of course speculation of how to handle the economic downturn. Utah is well-known for taking advantage of opportunities and weathering difficult times. Now is no different. It is imperative Utah prep for whatever may lie ahead.
The NAIOP Symposium Committee has spent much time creating a meaningful platform. By providing this annual publication and Symposium addressing market conditions, analysis, and forecasts, we hope the information will assist in making decisions for your clients, businesses, and the economy.
