CVRD's Environmental Programs

In 2006, US$ 150 million spent on environmental protection. Budget for 2007 is US$ 210 million. CVRD contributes to the preservation of approximately 1.4 million hectares of tropical forests. We recycle 80% of the water used in our facilities and we have a Technology Center dedicated to the recovery and protection of native and industrial forests.

CVRD's Social Programs

Social programs focus on community developments, environmental conciousness, musical education, literacy improvement and support to schools. US$ 145 million spent on social initiatives in 2006, benefiting about 3 million people. Our budget for 2007 is US$ 190 million. Projects in partnership with states, municipalities and community associations, respecting local identities and culture.
