Survey: big firms pay bigger bonuses.

Chief financial officers at public companies with annual revenues of more than $250 million received cash bonuses that averaged 64 percent of base pay, or $194,923, in 2001, with the median bonus being 36 percent of cash pay, or $100,308.

That's according to an analysis by The Todd Organization, a nationwide executive benefits consulting firm. Not surprisingly, Todd found that at larger companies, bonuses are a higher percentage of salary, as well as a higher average and median dollar amount. The information was obtained from 2001 fiscal year proxy statements for all U.S.-headquartered, publicly held companies that had revenues of more than $250 million.
