On Oct. 23, 1964, the papers were signed and Superior Heating Service Inc.'s two new owners, Marion Fox and Bob Pope, launched their new company from a leased basement with three used vans and a 1/2-ton pickup truck in Anchorage. Ten years later they outgrew their $75/month basement office and grew their business to nearly $1 million-along with a name change to Superior Plumbing & Heating Inc. Now, 40 long and tumultuous years since its start, Superior Plumbing & Heating Inc. enjoys a reputation of exceptional performance within Alaska, said staff.
