Jeff C. Miller concentrates his practice on environmental law, with a particular emphasis on hazardous waste cleanup, enforcement issues, and Clean Water Act permitting issues. A secondary focus of his practice is insurance coverage work on behalf of policyholders, usually in conjunction with environmental claims. A significant portion of Mr. Miller's work involves the Portland Harbor and Lower Duwamish Waterway Superfund sites. This work includes representing clients in private allocation processes, reviewing technical documents, and analyzing client liability and potential defenses. He also helps clients at these and other sites obtain insurance coverage. Mr. Miller clerked for the Washington State Attorney General's Office and the United States Department of the Interior. Before attending law school, he was a senior geographic systems (GIS) analyst and national park ranger.

Steven F. Hill, a partner at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn, LLP, concentrates his practice in environmental and natural resources, insurance recovery, admiralty, and land use law and leads the southwest Washington environmental and natural resources practice area. Steve represents landowners and developers in responding to wetland and other natural resource issues affecting the development and use of real property in Oregon and southwest Washington and has assisted clients in obtaining permits for some of the larger development projects in the area. He advises clients regarding complex Endangered Species Act implications for development and operational permits and represents clients in negotiating with state and federal agencies regarding investigation and cleanup plans...
