Dear Teachers,

As the end of the school year approaches, it can be easy to feel like you're in a race to the finish line. There are exams to prepare and grade, final papers to review, and plenty of loose ends to tie up before you can officially welcome summer. So perhaps it's appropriate that "racing" is a theme that runs through several of the stories in our last issue for 2015-16!

Our cover story, "The Race to Save the Elephants," explores efforts to halt the illegal ivory trade before it's too late for Africa's majestic elephants--including a new agreement between the U.S. and China to tighten bans on the trade. Our update on Election 2016 looks at how the Democratic Party's superdelegates could affect the race for the White House. And our special report on the upcoming Summer Olympic Games reminds readers of humankind's ongoing race to be "faster, higher, stronger." This special report includes an article on Brazil's problem-plagued preparations for the Games and a Times Past article on Olympic moments that transcended sports and made history. We hope...
