The Supreme Court's decision in the Lindsay Earls case ("Expanded Drug Tests in Schools?" 5/6/02) facilitates new aggressive and radical techniques to curb drug abuse in schools. What happened to the Fourth Amendment, which bars unreasonable searches and seizures? It seems the Court has abandoned the Bill of Rights for a "trial by vial" approach. Aside from being blatantly un-American, random testing of students will not work.
