January 24 was the National Day of Action to Divest from the Private Prison Industry. The National Network for Immigrant and Refugee Rights and Enlace, an alliance of low-wage worker centers, unions, and community organizations in Mexico and in the United States, are urging major financial institutions, such as Fidelity and Wells Fargo, to divest from the private prison industry and to stop profiteering on the backs of immigrants.
