Anchorage construction firm STG Incorporated was awarded a $5.34 million contract by the National Park Service for the construction of a permanent bridge and boardwalk over the Brooks River in Katmai National Park and Preserve.

The project includes construction of a permanent bridge to replace an aging, seasonal floating bridge over the Brooks River. A boardwalk will link the bridge to high ground adjacent to Brooks Lodge and neighboring facilities at the Brooks Camp visitor area. The new bridge also will allow for safer disposal of septic sludge and more efficient utility connections.
