On Mar. 19, the New Hampshire House of Representatives approved a CLF-backed bill to formalize the state's participation in the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) to curb global warming pollution. RGGI is a 10-state program to reduce emissions of carbon dioxide, a primary contributor to global warming, from fossil fuel-fired power plants. RGGI will limit the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that can be released and includes a market-based program to allow for the auction of pollution allowances.
