With summer arriving and only 35% of Americans planning to take a family vacation away from home this year, the personal-finance website WalletHub has released its report on 2017's Best & Worst Cities for Staycations.

To identify the best spots for staying local, WalletHub's number crunchers compared the 150 largest cities across 36 key indicators of a fun-filled--yet wallet-friendly--staycation. The data ranges from movie and bowling costs to spas and wellness centers per capita to cost of house-cleaning services.

The 10 best cities, starting at No. 1, are Orlando, Fla.; Chicago, III.; San Diego, Calif.; Seattle, Wash.; Tampa, Fla.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Atlanta, Ga.; Portland, Ore.; San Francisco, Calif.; and New York.

The 10 worst cities, from the bottom up, are Chula Vista, Calif.; Yonkers, N.Y.; Oxnard, Calif.; Santa Ana, Calif.; Fremont, Calif.; Newark, N.J.; Hialeah, Fla.; Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Oakland, Calif.; and North Las Vegas, Nev.
