STATISTICAL HIGHLIGHTS
Crude oil and NGL production
Provisional estimates for OPEC crude oil production in
December 2015 totaled 31.7 mn bpd. For the 12 mem-
bers of OPEC, natural gas liquids (NGL) production
for December was 5.2 mn bpd, bringing total com-
bined production of crude oil and NGL to 36.9 mn bpd,
1.4 mn bpd or3.8% hig hert hanthe gure for December
2014.
Crude oil and NGL productionin the OECD 30 coun-
tries totaled 23.7mn bpd in December, up by 1.2mn bpd
or 5.2% from the previous year.
Production in the countries of the Commonwealth
of Independent States (CIS) for December 2015 was
13.7 mn bpd, down 0.1 mn bpd or 0.7% compared with
December 2014, and for the rest of the world,production
was 16.5 mn bpd, 0.5 mn bpd or 2.8% higher than it was
in December 2014.
Total world production of crude oil and NGL for
December 2015 totaled 90.8 mn bpd, an increase of
3.0 mn bpd or 3.3% compared with the gure for
December 2014.
Natural gas production
US production of natural gas for October 2015 was
68.2 bcm, up 4.9 bcm or 7.7% compared with October
2014.
InCanada,productioninOctobertotaled13.8bcm,
an increase of 0.5 bcm or 3.5% compared with October
2014. Production for OECD Europe-23 was 20.4 bcm,
down 0.8 bcm or 3.8% compared with the gure for
October 2014.
Natural gas production in the CIS countries was
80.4 bcm, up 0.7 bcm or 0.9% compared with October
2014.
Over all, world total natural gas production in Octo-
ber 2015 was 310.1 bcm, an increase of 4.2 bcm or 1.4%
compared with the gure for October 2014.
Coal and lignite production
World total combined production of coal and lignite in
October 2015 was 627.0 mn mt, up 2.0mn mt or 0.3%
from the previous year.
Production in the US in October was 68.5 mn mt, a
fall of 7.9 mnmt or 10.3% compared with the gure for
October 2014.

compared with October 2014.
Electricity production
Net total world productionof electricity in October 2015
was 34.4 bn kWh or 1.9% higher than in October 2014,
at 1,819.8 bn kWh.
In China, net electricity production increased by
8.3 bn kWh, or 2.0% on the gure for October 2014,
at 425.8 bn kWh. US production for October 2015 was
1.2 bn kWh or 0.4% higher than the gure for October
2014 at 315.7 bn kWh.
Net electricity production in OECD Europe-23 was
271.8 bn kWh, which was 8.5 bn kWh or 3.2% higher
than the same month in 2014.
Products demand
Demand for oil products in the US for October 2015
was 19.3mn bpd, an increase of 0.4 mn bpd or 2.0%
compared with October 2014.
Across the OECD 30 countr ies, products de mand
was 43.3 mn bpd, up 0.1 mn bpd or 0.2% compared with
October 2014.
Products demand in Japan for October 2015 was
3.8 mn bpd, a decreas e of less than 0.1 mn bpd or 2.2%
compared with the previous year.
Total world demand for petroleum products in Octo-
ber 2015 was 91.9 mn bpd, an increase of 1.8 mn bpd or
1.9% compared with the gure for October 2014.
