STATISTICAL HIGHLIGHTS

Crude oil and NGL production

Provisional estimates for OPEC crude oil production in

August 2016 totaled 32.2 mn bpd.For the 12 members of

OPEC, natural gas liquids (NGL) production forAugust

was 5.4 mn bpd, bringing tota l combined production of

crude oil and NGL to 37.7 mn bpd, 0.4 mn bpd or 1.1%

higher than the gure for August 2015.

Crude oil and NGL productionin the OECD 30 coun-

tries totaled 22.4 mn bpd in August, down by 0.1 mn bpd

or 0.4% from the previous year.

Production in the countries of the Commonwealth

of Independent States (CIS) for August 2016 was

13.6 mn bpd, down 0.2 mn bpd or 1.6% compared with

August 2015, and for the rest of the world, production

was 16.0 mn bpd, 0.3 mn bpd or 1.9% lower than it was

in August 2015.

Total world production of crude oi l and NGL

for August 2016 totaled 89.6 mn bpd, a decrease of

2.0 mn bpd or 0.2% compared with the gure for August

2015.

Natural gas production

US production of naturalgas for June 2016 was 64.6 bcm,

up 1.4 bcm or 2.3% compared with June 2015.

InCanada,productioninJunetotaled14.0bcm,an

increase of 0.7 bcm or 4.9% compared with June 2015.

Production for OECD Europe-23 was 17.9 bcm, up

0.2 bcm or 1.3% compared witht he gurefor June 2015.

Natural gas production in the CIS countries was

63.3 bcm, up 0.2 bcm or 0.3% compared with June 2015.

Over all, world total natural gas production in June

2016 was 284.0 bcm, an increase of 1.1 bcm or 0.4%

compared with the gure for June 2015.

Coal and lignite production

World total combined production of coal and lignite in

June 2016 was 577.7 mn mt, down 5.7 mn mt, a decrease

of 1% on the previous ye ar.

Production in the US in June was 51.7mn mt, a fall

of 8.6 mn mtor 14.2% compared with the gure for June

2015.

lignite in June 2016, an increase of 1.6mn mt or 4.7%

compared with June 2015.

Electricity production

Net total world production of electricity in June 2016

was 12.8 bn kWh or 0.7% higher than in June 2015, at

1,864.8 bn kWh.

In China, net electricity production increased by

6.3 bn kWh, or 1.4% on the gure for June 2015,

at 451.9 bn kWh. US production for June 2016 was

4.0 bnkWh or 1.1% lower than the gure for June 2015

at 358.9 bn kWh.

Net electricity production in OECD Europe-23 was

250.7 bn kWh, which was 2.5 bn kWh or 1.0% higher

than the same month in 2015.

Products demand

Demand for oil products in the US for June 2016 was

19.4 mn bpd, an increase of 0.2 mn bpd or 0.9% com-

pared with June 2015.

43.0 mn bpd, up 0.7 mn bpd or 1.7% comparedwith June

2015.

Products demand in Japan for June 2016 was

3.5mnbpd,adecreaseoflessthan0.1mnbpdor

0.7% compared with the previous year.

Total world demand for petroleum products in June

2016 was 89.8 mn bpd, a decrease of 0.4 mn bpd or 0.4%

compared with the gure for June 2015.
