STATISTICAL HIGHLIGHTS

Crude oil and NGL production

Provisional estimates for OPEC crude oil production in

June 2017 totaled 32.7 mn bpd. For the 12 members of

OPEC, natural gas liquids (NGL) production for June

was 5.6 mn bpd, bringing total combined production of

crude oil and NGL to 38.3 mn bpd, 1.8 mn bpd or 2.1%

higher than the gure for June 2016.

Crude oil and NGL productionin the OECD 30 coun-

tries totaled 21.3mn bpd in June, down by 0.1mn bpd or

0.3% from the previous year.

Production in the countries of the Commonwealth of

Independent States(CIS) for June 2017 was 14.8 mn bpd,

up 1.2 mn bpd or 8.6% comparedwith June 2016, and for

the rest of the world, production was 16.0 mn bpd, level

with the gure for June 2016.

Totalworld production of crude oil and NGL for June

2017 totaled 90.4 mn bpd, an increase of 1.8 mn bpd or

2.1% compared with the gure for June 2016.

Natural gas production

US production of natural gas for April 2017 was 59.7

bcm, down 2.2 b cm or 3.6% compared with April 2016.

InCanada,productioninApriltotaled15.1bcm,

an increase of 1.0 bcm or 7% compared with April

2016. Production forOECD Europe-23 was 23.0 bcm, up

1.3 bcm or 6.1% compared with the gure for April2016.

Natural gas production in the CIS countries was

74.1 bcm, up 4.9 bcm or 7.1% comparedwith April 2016.

Over all, world total natural gas production in April

2017 was 307.6 bcm, an increase of 14.8bcm or 5.1%

compared with the gure for April 2016.

Coal and lignite production

World total combined production of coal and lignite in

April 2017 was 588.0 mn mt, down 4.9 mn mt, a decrease

of 0.9% on the previous year.

Production in the US in April was 54.5 mn mt, an

increase of 12.7 mn mt or 30.5% compared with the

gure for April 2016.

lignite in April 2017, an increase of 2.0mn mt or 5%

compared with April 2016.

Electricity production

Net total world production of electricity in April 2017

was 8.9 bn kWh or 0.5% higher than in April 2016, at

1,802.9 bn kWh.

In China, net electricity production increased by

0.5 bn kWh, or 0.1% on the gure for April 2016,

at 417.9 bn kWh. US production for April 2017 was

0.8 bnkWh or 0.3% lower than the gure for April 2016

at 293.4 bn kWh.

Net electricity production in OECD Europe-23

increased by 1.2 bn kWh, or 0.4% compared with April

2016, at 264.4 bn kWh.

Products demand

Demand for oil products in the US for April 2017 was

19.5 mn bpd, an increase of 0.1mn bpd or 0.5% com-

pared with April 2016.

AcrosstheOECD30countries,productsdemandwas

44.1 mn bpd, up by 0.2 mn bpd or 0.5% compared with

April 2016.

Products demand in Japan for April 2017 was

4.2 mn bpd, a decrease of 0.1 mn bpd or 2.2% compared

with the previous year.

Total world demand for petroleum products in April

2017 was 92.7 mn bpd, a decrease of 0.8 mn bpd or 0.9%

compared with the gure for April 2016.
