State legislatures are expressing their dis-content with President Bush's call for bolstering U.S. troops in Iraq. Legislative chambers in California, Iowa and Vermont have passed resolutions. The Vermont General Assembly wants Congress to bring American troops home. The Iowa and California Senates are on record against the plan to send more troops into combat. And legislators in Maine and Maryland sent letters to their congressional delegations asking them to vote against any kind of escalation of the war.
