Gov. Sarah Palin appointed Carl Bauman to the Kenai Superior Court. Bauman replaces the retiring Harold M. Brown. Bauman has practiced law for 33 years. He currently is a managing member of Hughes, Bauman, Pfiffner, Gorski & Seedorf LLC in Anchorage.

Doug Larsen was chosen director of the state Department of Fish and Game's Division of Wildlife Conservation.
