Gov. Sarah Palin appointed William B. Carey to the Ketchikan Superior Court. Carey has served as a private-practice attorney in Anchorage since 1990, specializing in criminal defense in Southeast. Rebecca Hilgendorf, a licensed nursing home administrator, was chosen director of the State Department of Health and Social Services' Senior and Disabilities Services. She began her career with the department 26 years ago. David Cote was appointed director of Alaska Pioneer Homes. Cote has worked for the State as a social services program coordinator and officer.
