Life Before APHSA: I've worn a lot of hats while managing the delivery of human services and related programs in state and local government and the nonprofit sector. I started my career in local government, where I coordinated home safety, health, and energy efficiency improvements for families in Baltimore City. Then, after Superstorm Sandy hit, I joined the State of New Jersey to oversee housing recovery efforts for affected homeowners. After that, I transitioned into human services, where I oversaw the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program, refugee assistance, and homelessness policies and programs with the State of Maryland. Most recently I worked for a nonprofit research institute where I provided policy analysis, program evaluation, and performance management services for state and federal energy and community services programs.
