Springs' airport director steps down.

* GARY GREEN, director of aviation at Colorado Springs Airport, announced his retirement, effective May 31, Green is responsible for projects totaling more than $200 million, including the construction of a new terminal in 1994. The success of Green's 15-year tenure was especially evident in the airport's overall performance last year. While numerous airports -- including DIA -- saw a substantial drop in passenger traffic, Colorado Springs Airport saw an increase of 1.2 percent, with 2.1 million passengers arriving and departing in 2002.

* Former vice president of communications at Starz Encore Group in Colorado, PAUL JACOBSON, has a new title -- deputy communications director for new Senate Majority Leader BILL FRIST. Although reluctant to leave Denver, Jacobson said the opportunity to serve the public in Washington, where he had worked before, was impossible to turn down "despite considerable personal sacrifice."

* MARY BLUE was elected to a record fourth consecutive term as chairman of the RTD board of directors. Blue represents District I, with constituents in Boulder, Broomfield and Adams counties. A former Colorado legislator, Blue has served as the RTD board's chair since 1996.
