United Sporting Companies (USC) has hired two new executives: John P. McCarthy as chief information officer, and Scott Walker as chief purchasing officer.
During his 20-year career, McCarthy has deployed new ERP systems, led the IT integration of acquired companies, improved e-commerce capabilities, and directed lean initiatives and strategies for IT. He joins USC from Stanley Black & Decker.
McCarthy holds a bachelor's degree in computer electrical engineering and an MBA, both from the University of Rhode Island.
Walker joins USC from The Sports Authority, where he was vice president of Camping, Hunting, Fishing and Water Sports. He previously worked as divisional merchandising manager for Bass Pro Shops, and as vice president at Galyan's Trading Co. His industry experience spans more than 20 years.
