Millard County--ENERGY CAPITAL GROUP (ECG) is developing ECG Utah Solar 1, a 300-megawatt solar plant adjacent to the INTERMOUNTAIN POWER PLANT. The plant is expected to cost about $600 million. ECG will lease 1,754 acres from the Utah School and Institutional Trust Land Administration (SITLA). The infrastructure at the location includes a HVDC transmission line going directly to California.

The project is expected to create about 200 construction jobs and power an estimated 80.000 homes.

ECG has conducted a required biological study and cultural survey. It is also working with Millard County on a conditional use permit and is in the Utah Alternative Energy Development Incentive application process. Supporting the engineering of the project is Power-Tech Engineers, Inc. (PTEI).
