I WAS RECENTLY APPROACHED by someone who wanted to turn all of his LinkedIn posts into a business book. "Why would you want to turn your ideas into a book?" I asked. "They will be read by way more people on LinkedIn!"

Publishing has changed. There are few book readers or newspaper subscribers but millions of social media scrollers. We get our content directly from the people we follow online and no longer wait on publishing gatekeepers to report on it.

That's the future of media. That's why Elon Musk bought Twitter and not The Washington Post as his predecessor Jeff Bezos did. Twitter is more powerful because we get to choose what we want to consume rather than be fed what the media wants to give us.
