Are elite soccer players smarter than the rest of us? That's what Swedish scientists concluded in a recent study. Using a test that assesses skills in problem solving, creativity, and rule making, they found that soccer players from Sweden's top league scored highest, followed by players from a lower division. Nonplayers finished behind both groups of players. Among the soccer players, those with higher test scores had more goals and assists.
