Bravo to Paul Glastris for "How the Democrats Could Have Won" (December)! Finally, a journalist has done more than just observe and rant--he's offered some ideas. I couldn't have been in more agreement than when he made the analogy: "Journalists have the moral courage of snipers." If only more of the media would share their ideas, their readers may reach a deeper understanding of the issues.

Contrary to Mr. Glastris's assertion, President Clinton was not able to get welfare and other social program benefits restored to most legal immigrants after the 1996 election.
