The Alaska North Slope maintains eight oilproducing units, each consisting of several smaller fields. The eight major units are the Greater Prudhoe Bay Area (includes Lisburne Production Center), Kuparuk River, Milne Point, Duck Island, Colville River, Northstar, Badami, and Oooguruk.

The "Alaska North Slope Production" graph displays monthly averages of barrels per day (bpd) produced at each unit between June 1977 and June 2009. The Greater Prudhoe Bay Area is the oldest unit and has consistently yielded the most oil; however its out put is in decline.
