It's competitive and intense, it's fun, it can net you up to a $50,000 prize, but most importantly, it's fishing in Alaska. The Seward Silver Salmon Derby, scheduled to run from 6 a.m. on Aug. 7 to noon on Aug. 21, is celebrating its 49th year and derby officials are expecting another excellent turnout.
