Intel, Springs still talking; Esalextax.com solves tax flap

The move would entail the biggest corporate investment in facilities and equipment in state history -- some $2.4 billion, said Rocky Scott, president and CEO of the Colorado Springs Economic Development Corp. Colorado Springs also has established a 15-member board for its planned technology incubator, Scott said. Talk about irony. When their e-mail works, central Eastern Plains officials update each other on the progress of two grant-funded studies of the area's telecom. The first, "a general assessment of our telecom" will produce a wish list, said Dan Dean, Burlington city administrator. The second study looks into existing and needed telecom infrastructure and funds a telecom primer from University of Colorado, which "explains the technology that exists and how to put it to use if we can get it here." Results so far show an "amazing amount" of money being spent on area telecom, he said. He hopes results show the area's market will support telecom investment. ...
