U.S. banks are not the only ones introducing digital marketing systems in their lobbies. Caja Mediterraneo, a large savings bank with 500 branches in Spain, recently installed a three-channel digital signage network throughout its branch system.

The bank uses the digital network to further localize its marketing strategy. No two branches show identical content simultaneously. Some examples of the localized messaging:

* An event calendar featuring the bank's sponsorships of activities at the neighborhood, provincial, regional and national level.

* Microcampaigns that vary for each branch, based on the prior week's sales...
